CANCER CULTURE

The culture of the American Oligarchs. In the hierarchy of things it places the rich at the top, with every body else in various degrees of servitude, to be used as needed, discarded when necessary. I regard their attitudes, their total dehumanizing regard for everybody else, as a  form of cancer, because like a cancer, certain cells that were functioning properly suffer malignant mutations that send them on trajectories that are ultimately injurious and even fatal to the host. It is reflected not only in the attitudes at the top, but also “downstream” in the attitudes and considerations of those hired to do their bidding. Thus the people they put in charge of the media, the WMD, reflect the values and attitudes of the people who hired them.

They are not swayed by the Garbage Noise, the Shills and TURDS, the RepCons and the WMD of the AOs.  They have found alternative sources of information that they have vetted and trust, ignoring the labels of “left” or “progressive” or “socialist” that the WMD continually attempts to impress upon them. They make their own judgements, know the importance of every vote, and determine for themselves who best serves their interests.

CONTROL THE NARRATIVE

Tactics

Controlling the Narrative means controlling not only what you see, but what you don’t see. Again using the example of the Con Game, it’s important to manipulate the Mark’s attention away from something as much as it is toward what they want them to focus on. For example, Class Warfare was a term used often in describing what was happening in this country back in the 60’s and even 70’s. Now you will hardly ever hear the term used. It’s not something the AOs want you to think about.

False Equivalency, e.g., using the phrase “Partisan Politics” to imply all are to blame. Another is “divisive politics” as if the animus is equally violent and vitriolic  from Democrats as well as Republicans. A common tactic in earlier years was to always mention both union and corporations when reporting on big money in politics, implying that unions contributed equal or more money to politicians than corporations. And the unions would always be mentioned first and prominently. Of course, the fact that unions were trying to pass legislation favorable to the middle and lower classes while corporations were basically involved with enriching the CEO’s and their shareholders was never mentioned.

LABELS

Labels, as used in GAME Theory, are a convenient shortcut for thinking. It’s useful for manipulating the intellectually lazy and especially the weak-minded who don’t want to think too deeply or long on any particular type of person or ideology, especially if it might threaten to subvert or challenge their current world view. It not only encourages a mental laziness, but it helps to contribute that “us versus them” mentality which is important in manipulating the Sheep. An additional factor is that it subtly de-humanizes the target so that it’s easier to dismiss their suffering or misery.

Normalization

Normalizing of aberrant behavior is using terminology that repeatedly softens the judgement and even the impact of the actions.  Repeated efforts in this direction can leave the typical Frog with an “Oh, well, what are you gonna do?” attitude.  An example is the separation of immigrant children from their parents, locking them up in facilities not designed to deal with them, with people not trained for the situation being given the responsibility to care for them. If this was happening in some third world country we would be outraged.  But the WMD have hardly mentioned the status of these children since the initial reporting, and you would be hard put to find any reference at all.

Critical Thinking Scan

First action: Seek the Source, Follow the Money.  Always look to see the author of the information.  If unfamiliar, do a search on past activities, affiliations, support, especially on what is the source of their funding [If it’s the Kochs, the Mercers, etc., raise the RED FLAG). 

Also, as in any war, while there are various tactics of subterfuge and diversion to mask intent and strategy, the overall objectives and target are usually identifiable. Here to, there are certain ideas that will be repeated and reinforced, and others that will be avoided.  For example, you will never hear any Shill or TURD or RepCon talk about taxing the rich.  In fact, how many of you automatically hear cries of “SOCIALISM!” in your mind at just the mention of the idea.  That’s Controlling the Narrative in action.

DE-CONSTRUCTING DEMOCRACY

If you follow GAME Theory to its logical conclusion, you can see that a democratic political system is incompatible with an American Oligarchy. As I have said before, the evidence of GAME Theory is happening right before our eyes.  You only need to look at the attacks on the most fundamental component of democracy: the vote.  The Republican Party, unlike any time in its history, has been attacking the voting rights of Americans in the most blatant, callous and brutal  manner possible, all while we, the American public, look on, and the WMD hardly challenges or even comments on their actions.  And it started at the top of the judicial system, with the Roberts Rich-wing Supreme Court gutting the Civil Rights Voting Act, thus giving Southern States in particular the all clear to attack minority participation under  their jurisdiction, which they have with abandon, particularly now. And while people of color and the poor have been the main targets right now, the truth is the Republican Party has been engaging in it before now, against majority voters when they wanted to get their way.  Michigan is a case in point.  When the Emergency Manager law was voted down, twice, the RepCons in Lansing Michigan did an end around by submitting their own version and then attaching a funding bill that prevented the voters from challenging it.  What did the local news media do?  They reported it and moved on. Business as usual. This was one of the most blatant acts of contempt that the Republican Party had shown to its voters, and thanks to the WMD, most Michigan voters quietly accepted it and life went on.

Frogs

Independent Voters

People with enough intelligence to be wary of the current political system and therefore not committed wholly to either party, thus often declaring themselves Independents. They are also not aware of the power of their vote and the constant assaults on their ability to recognize and use that power. The result is that they often treat their vote as a protest, or an expression of opinion, or sometimes not even worthy of action. They might vote Democrat or Republican, Libertarian or Green Party, or not at all. The information they use to make these decisions is based primarily on what are sometimes  referred to as mainstream media sources, social media, and even politically motivated news networks such as Fox News Media and  Sinclair Broadcast Group, and of course their circle of friends and colleagues.

They are deemed Frogs in reference to the proverbial frog in a pot of slowly boiling water. Per the metaphor, if you put a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will immediately jump out.  But if you put the frog into a pot of room temperature water and then slowly raise the heat, the frog will sit their and slowly boil to death.

 I look at these people as Frogs when they declare themselves Independent Voters but do not fully commit themselves to the power of their vote. They have been giving some attention to what is happening around them and to their loved ones and friends, but even as their voting rights are being eroded and challenged, and they continue to lose ground economically and politically, they have not reached the point where they see a threat serious enough to command their full attention.

In the case of the Frogs I am talking about, when the water reaches the boiling point they will not die, at least not physically. It is their judgement that will atrophy, and their critical thinking abilities that will die off.  In other words, they will become Sheep.

GAME THEORY-THE THREE RULES

Rule Number One

WHOEVER COUNTS THE MOST VOTES WINS.

Rule Number Two

Once eligible to vote you are automatically conscripted into a war, a Class War. And the battlefield is your mind.

You have only one weapon, and one defense in this war, and that is your ability to THINK CRITICALLY.

My GAME theory is a way to provide context, a template to filter through all of the tons of information that assaults you. A way of understanding the various forces operating in American politics, and to help filter out a lot of what I deem Garbage Noise so that it is possible to see what is actually happening and focus on what is truly relevant to the decision-making process when it comes to voting. 

Garbage Noise

As my father used to say, forget what a politician says about what he plans to do. If you want to know what a politician is going to do, just look at what he’s done.  Because a politician does what he wants to do. What comes out of his mouth after that, to “explain” what he did and why he did it, is just Garbage Noise. Which was another name for bullshit, but my mother didn’t allow swearing in the house.

Garbage Noise, which could be under Control the Narrative, is used to confuse, misdirect, misinform, and even overload your sensory inputs (much like a denial-of-service attack on a computer) so that your brain can no longer process the deluge of information attacking it.  The result is that you enter a state of confusion and doubt, which leaves you susceptible to any outside suggestions that seems to promise a release or at least relief from the stress your experiencing by providing an “explanation” of least resistance.  That explanation, often, will simultaneously appeal to your sense of “victimhood” while also feeding  your self-righteous moral code, legitimate or not. In other words, your ego.

GREAT AMERICAN CON

Why am I using the analogy of a con game? A con game starts with a “con man”, short for confidence man. He was called this because his modus operandi is to gain the confidence, and with it the trust, of his victim, usually referred to as a mark, for the purpose of manipulating the mark into giving his, the mark’s, money, willingly and often legally, to the con man.

As I looked at the increasing economic inequality in this country, I was struck with how many seemed to be aware of it, the inequality, but somehow didn’t, or couldn’t, get themselves to a position to do something about it [the Frogs].  But even more amazing to me were a group of people [the Sheep] who not only seemed oblivious to the nature of their circumstance, but actually voted for the people who were causing it, and even vociferously DEFENDED the people who were doing it to them!

It became clearer when I looked at how the group I came to call the Sheep seemed to be used. The AOs, being rich, wanted to be more rich, more powerful. The problem is that they lived in a country with laws and regulations. An additional problem was that they lived in a democracy, where people voted on who made those laws and enforced them. Since there were only a few hundred of the AOs, and millions of the rest of us, the 99%, this posed a problem for electing politicians who would serve them: Not enough votes to get them elected. So they used some of their millions to hire some think tanks to solve their problem. The solution, as it turns out, was pretty simple: They just needed to use some of their millions to con enough voters into voting for their politicians, the RepCons. And so here we are with The Great American Con.

Of course to succeed you needed some way to communicate with the Sheep, some means of constantly delivering the message over and over to vote for the RepCon, and why. So they get one of their favorite politicians to remove the barriers to Corporate ownership of the news media, as well as seriously weaken anti-trust laws, and voila! Fox News is born, along with the corporate capture of the major broadcast outlets.

Plan A

Per GAME theory, convert as many voters into Sheep as possible.

PLAN B

Per GAME theory, neutralize  and eliminate opposition to the AO candidate of choice.

As per GAME Theory in this Class Warfare scenario, Plan B is the plan that runs concurrently with Plan A.  In elections, where Plan A is to get as many Sheep as possible to vote for the RepCons [the AO’s candidate of choice], Plan B is to try to discourage and eliminate any viable opposition to their candidate.  By viable, I mean whoever would most likely threaten the election of their RepCon.  Given the current American political system of basically a two party contest, that would be a Democrat.  Third Party candidates pose little to no threat in most races, so they are not a factor, except where they may draw votes away from Democrats. In that case, they fit under Plan B perfectly by taking votes away from the Democratic opponent. As per the First Rule of GAME Theory: Whoever counts the most votes wins.

Plan B Democrats

Democrats who owe the majority of their support to Corporate interests, they are usually identified as neoliberals or centrists.These are the last line of defense of the AOs. They are not fully supported with the millions lavished on Republicans, but in the current system of campaign finance, they are given enough for the AOs to demand some degree of loyalty.  Per GAME Theory, most of the AO’s money is focused on the leadership, to help steer the Democratic Party into impotent battles while appearing to be actively attacking Republican platforms. This why I sometimes refer to them as Republican Lite.  Nevertheless, even a Plan B Democrat is preferable to a Republican in this current political arena.

REPCONS

Representative Con Artists committed to representing the interests of the AOs, and fulfilling the AO’s Three Commandments.

Political Representative Con Artists who support the Three Commandments of the AOs. Overwhelmingly, these are members of the Republican Party. GAME Theory shows this to be the result of the massive funding that the major American Oligarchs, the point one per-centers, have been funneling into their campaigns. To be clear, there are an assortment of Democrats as well, describe by GAME Theory as Plan B Democrats. But there is no question as to who commands the allegiance and servitude of the Republican Party as currently constituted. In case you’re unclear, it is not the voters.

RICH-WING POLITICS (VERSUS RIGHT-WING POLITICS)

At some later point I’ll show why we should be clear on which “wing” is really governing the Republican Party. I can show that the Right-wing is just another tool, not the actual determining factor, equivalent to the status of evangelicals, and white nationalists as more elaborate forms of Sheep Prods.

RULE OF OLIGARCHY (versus Rule of Law)

This should speak for itself as to where we are headed if Trump and the Senate get re-elected.

SHEEP

The approximate one quarter to one third of American voters who have surrendered all critical capacity, and happily swallow the Garbage Noise of the RepCons, and faithfully vote the Republican Party even though it no longer represents them.

SHEEP PRODS

Similar to cattle prods.  Cattle prods, also referred to as stock prods as described in Wikipedia, are sticks, sometimes electrified, used to drive cattle in the right direction. In GAME Theory, Sheep Prods are verbal “sticks” that are used by the RepCons and the WMD to drive the Sheep to voting booths every two years to vote for the RepCons who actually represent the American Oligarchy.  Examples of Sheep Prods would be Immigration, Abortion, Taxes, Regulations, Socialism, and my favorite: JOBS! These get the Sheep in a frenzy to go vote for the RepCons, who can then do the bidding of the AOs.

In between the years when they are herding the Sheep to vote, they fleece them through undisclosed taxes, guns and ammo, books, MAGA hats and anything else they can think of to get them to hand over their money.

SHILL

Again citing Wikipedia (and please contribute to them, they can use the financial support):

A shill, also called a plant or a stooge, is a person who publicly helps or gives credibility to a person or organization without disclosing that they have a close relationship with the person or organization. Shills can carry out their operations in the areas of media, journalism, marketing, politics, confidence games, or other business areas. A shill may also act to discredit opponents or critics of the person or organization in which they have a vested interest through character assassination or other means.

In GAME Theory, these are the Fox News commentators like Hannity, radio Shills like Rush Limbaugh, book Shills like Ann Coulter, the list goes on. You can usually identify them through their use of the above mentioned Sheep Prods, as well as their fierce protection of the AOs and their wealth.

A TURD is specific type of Troll, doing the work of the Rich-wing RepCons but without the pay that the Shills get.  This makes them rather dumb to be doing it for nothing. But that’s a Sheep for you.

MVP

Most Viable Proponent for your interests: Your interests are defined in the following hierarchy: You; your immediate family, starting with your spouse and children and continuing with your parents; your siblings; your close relatives; your close friends, your immediate community, the larger community that you identify as sharing the welfare of your interests. In other words, It Takes A Village. The Civilized American understands the importance of cooperation and diversity, and votes accordingly.
